Continuing with its quest for excellence and high effectiveness in the quality of education imparted to the students, Uttarakhand Open University , launched its premium Online courses for the benefit of its students.
The University recognizes the power and potential of technology and its impact on Open and Distance Learning. The University believes that technology has had—and will continue to have—a significant impact on higher Education. Online learning is gaining a firm foothold in universities around the world and there has been a significant impetus on this medium of education from the Indian government. The University considers online learning key to advancing the mission—reaching people who might otherwise not be able to access it.
The University has launched several online courses where the students will be able to learn through the video lectures of the professors The students of these courses shall, apart from their regular printed study material, also get access to these video lectures of the professors for all the topics in the syllabus.
The videos can be accessed online by the students using their unique user ID and password. The videos can also be downloaded on to the tablets and smart phones of the students for future and offline viewing. The students also get the option to buy a pre-loaded smartphone from the University at a nominal cost. This smart phone come loaded with all the lectures in the off-line mode. Needless to say, that the students shall be able to paused, rewind, revise and replay these lectures at their own free will.
To bring in a near-classroom experience to its students, the University shall also conduct several interactive sessions for the students. The Online courses are supplemented by chat sessions, virtual classroom sessions, online quizzes and assignments, thereby making it an enlightening experience.
The Centre also proposes to conduct Online examinations for the students of the Online programs. The introduction of the Online programs shall also ensure a transparent method of assessment and timely declaration of the results.
